Top Navigation and Maps Apps in Europe Q2 2025

The second quarter of 2025 saw interesting trends in the performance of top navigation and maps applications across Europe on a unified platform. Here's a breakdown of how these apps performed based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps by Google showed a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 518K in early April and reaching over 613K by the end of June. Active users also climbed steadily from 341M to 361M during this period, while revenue showed a spike to $107 in the week of June 23.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a strong download performance, beginning at approximately 380K and ending at about 508K weekly downloads. Active users increased from 36.5M to 42.1M, indicating growing engagement.

2GIS: Offline Map & Navigation experienced a gradual rise in downloads, peaking at nearly 296K by the end of the quarter. Active users also rose from 23M to 25.8M, showing steady user retention.

Yandex Maps & Navigator from Direct Cursus Computer Systems Trading saw weekly revenue fluctuate slightly, with a peak of $3.2K in the final week of June. Downloads remained stable, hovering around the 230K mark, while active users increased from 45.2M to 48.5M.

Google Earth maintained a steady download rate, with weekly figures around 185K to 209K. Active users saw some fluctuation, peaking at over 5M in mid-April.
